NMCCF0It’s time once again to battle it out in Albuquerque to find who is making the best mac and cheese around. Above and beyond bragging rights for the best cheesy pasta goodness in town, proceeds benefit the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation, an organization assisting cancer patients with non-medical needs such as rent, groceries, and transportation to and from appointments. The first annual event in 2015 drew 2,500 Albuquerqueans to Balloon Fiesta Park, where they tasted mac and cheese samples from dozens of local and national restaurants. Last year’s top three placing mac and cheese recipes were provided by:

  1. The Village at Alameda
  2. Bravo Cucina Italiana
  3. Dave and Buster’s

Good and Thorough is pleased to announce it will be the rolling the food truck out to join the fun for a good cause this upcoming August 20th, serving a new take on classic New Mexican and American comfort foods, just as you’ve come to expect from our everyday menu. We’re the only food truck competing this year! We find ourselves being a perfect fit, with the three types of mac and cheese we offer regularly  giving us a strong base on which to try some new flavor combinations.

For the Mac and CGood and Thorough Truck 2016heese Fest, we’ve come up with a recipe that’s off the beaten path, moving away from the classics we keep on our board such as the New Mexico Green Chile and Bacon Mac and the Truffle Mac. This time we’re bringing you even closer to home, with flavor profiles reminiscent of homemade New Mexican food, infused within the perfectly mixed béchamel and cheese coating each elbow pasta nook. We’re keeping the specifics a secret because we want you to be pleasantly surprised when you delve into the rich, crunchy, creamy bite.

You are cordially invited to join the Good & Thorough food truck at Balloon Fiesta Park on Saturday, August 20th from 2pm to 6pm to sample mac and cheese, drink local beer, and, in the end, decide which mac and cheese won your taste buds over by voting with a chip provided at entry. Check out pictures of last year’s event here.

Tickets are $45 in advance, with a discount for purchases of groups of 6 tickets, and can be purchased here. Learn more about the Mac and Cheese Fest by visiting their site. This is a 21+ only event.

We look forward to seeing you there!
